Student Information System Download SIS is a data entry and data processing program designed to assist teachers from different grades to enter, view, process, and report on student and student attendance data. It allows a teacher to type the data directly into the application or import data from various data bases into the application. Teachers can schedule reminders and notes for students through the school and attendance calendars. Reminders appear as grey buttons on the student and attendance calendars. Students can be automatically entered into the system through the student entry form. A teacher can view student data through the student list window. Teachers can create, view, edit, process, print and sort student records. A teacher can view the report printable schedule by clicking on the Schedule button in the calendar window. A teacher can move a student between classes, grades, and houses. Students in attendance can be automatically entered into the system through the student entry form. A teacher can view attendance by clicking on the Attendance button on the calendar window. To add a student from the student entry form, enter a student name and student number into the student entry field. A student entry form will appear on the right side of the screen. To import student data into the application, click the SIS_Import button in the top left corner of the opening screen. A new student entry form will appear on the left side of the screen. On the new student entry form, select a data base from the pull down menu to import attendance and other data from the selected data base. To import attendance data from a data base, click the pull down menu under Import Students. The pull down menu will list the data bases in which student data is stored in the respective college or school. Select the appropriate college or school and click the Import button. The school calendar and attendance calendar can be viewed by clicking the Date button on the opening screen. The Attendance Calendar and Scheduling window appear. The Attendance calendar is divided into the four calendars: - Calendar: The calendar lists the dates for the school year - Schedule: A date is selected in the calendar and the student schedule for that day will be displayed. The attendance status of each student can be viewed by clicking the name of the student. - Reminders: A reminder can be set for a student. Each reminder is displayed as a grey button on the calendar. A teacher can click a button to view the reminder. - Notes: Teacher notes for a student can be set up for each student. Notes appear as grey buttons on Student Information System [32|64bit] - The SIS_Admin menu has eight functions - List student and staff data - Create courses, programs, and groups - Edit course details and change permissions - Create students and departments - Delete students - Add/Edit the SIS student and staff tables - Configure reporting, user access, and integration **Tip**: To delete a course or group, click the appropriate icon, then click the DELETE button. **Figure 14.2** SIS Admin menu **Figure 14.3** Create course table from SIS admin menu 1. On the SIS admin menu, click the SIS_Admin button and then select the CREATE COURSE option. 2. In the Create Course table dialog, enter **CE1** for the course code and proceed to name the course. (If you plan to assign subjects to students, enter **SUB1** for the course code.) 3. On the SIS admin menu, click the SIS_Admin button and then select the CREATE PROGRAM option. 2. In the Create Program table dialog, enter **P1** for the program code and proceed to name the program. (If you plan to assign subjects to students, enter **SUB1** for the program code.) 3. On the SIS admin menu, click the SIS_Admin button and then select the CREATE GROUP option. 2. In the Create Group table dialog, enter **SG1** for the group code and proceed to name the group. (If you plan to assign subjects to students, enter **SUB1** for the group code.) 3.
